Dhaka Rain Verses
Monsoon fragments from the balcony
Five poems observing the sudden fury and quiet redemption of tropical rains over the brick roofs of the capital.
I. The Tin Roof Symphony
The first heavy drop strikes the corrugated iron roof, A percussion older than memory, a definitive proof That the monsoon has conquered this city of dust and brick, Washing away the weary noise, turning the shadows thick. Old Dhaka breathes through antique carved wooden eaves, As rainwater spills like diamonds across jasmine leaves.
II. Alleys of Indigo

A solitary rickshaw pedals through the gentle midnight shower, Each spoke carrying the quiet pulse of an ancient enduring power. Dhaka in the rain is not merely concrete and steel, It is a living delta heart that knows how to love and feel.
Monsoon Sonnets of the Capital
The asphalt glistens beneath the heavy monsoon skies, A million drops reflect the city's neon eyes. From old curved balconies along the river lane, The ancient brickwork drinks the blessed summer rain.
Rickshaw hoods are raised in scarlet, green, and gold, A moving tapestry of stories yet untold. The tea stalls steam with ginger, cloves, and cardamom, As thunder beats upon the earth like a welcoming drum.
Wash clean the streets, wash clean the crowded mind, Leave only poetry and gentle thoughts behind. In Dhaka's heart, through every storm that sweeps the night, The resilient human soul burns eternally bright.
The river carries memories through the silver night, Reflecting stars in pools of phosphorescent light. Across the silt the ancient melodies remain, Clean washed beneath the rhythm of the summer rain.
No empire lasts where shi
